How booking requests work for hosts
A booking request lets a traveler ask to stay at your listing for selected dates. Use the request list to review the stay details and open the request before you respond.
Review a request
Section titled “Review a request”- Open Reservations.
- Select Requests to show requests that need review.
- Select a request. The card and detail view can show the traveler, identity-verification status, listing, dates, stay length, occupants, pets, and request message.
- Check the dates against your listing and availability.
- Select Message traveler if you need clarification, or continue to approve or decline the request.
Use Awaiting payment, Confirmed / Active, and Past to review other reservation states. Select Load more when it appears.
What happens after approval
Section titled “What happens after approval”Submitting Request to book does not reserve the dates. Multiple requests can remain pending for overlapping dates. When you select Approve, PTOspace rechecks the listing and dates, temporarily holds the eligible dates, and waits for the traveler to complete payment. Approval is not confirmation.
The traveler has the server-provided payment window shown in the booking
details, normally 24 hours after approval and hold acquisition. The server’s
payment_due_at value is authoritative. A failed payment can be retried before
that deadline without extending it. The temporary HELD range is not
BOOKED inventory. If the traveler withdraws or the deadline expires, the
hold is released; only a successful authoritative payment changes the booking
to Confirmed / Active and its held nights to BOOKED.
