How booking requests work for travelers

Available oniOSAndroidWeb

A booking request records the property, dates, guests, message, and price information you submitted for host review. The request state can change after the host responds or when a payment-dependent step applies.

  1. Open Stays from the signed-in account area.
  2. Use the available filters, such as Upcoming, Current, or Past.
  3. Select a request card to open Booking details.
  4. Review the displayed dates, host, stay details, status, price information, and any available next action.

PTOspace uses labels such as Request pending, Approved, Awaiting traveler payment, Confirmed, Declined, Expired, Canceled, and Withdrawn in the current shared booking UI. An approved booking is not necessarily the same as a confirmed booking; do not treat the stay as confirmed until PTOspace shows the confirmed state.

For Request to book, submitting the request does not hold the dates. If the Host approves, PTOspace temporarily holds the dates and shows the server-owned payment deadline (the approved Request window is 24 hours). A failed payment can be retried before the deadline without creating a new booking. Successful payment is required for Confirmed. If you withdraw before payment or the deadline expires, the unpaid hold is released.

Reserve is the separate Instant Book path: it does not require Host approval, temporarily holds eligible dates during checkout, and uses the server-provided Reserve deadline. The approved v1.0 contract default is 30 minutes. Existing historical listing revisions retain their original booking snapshots; new local policy revisions use the approved 30-minute hold.

Do not make travel plans based only on a submitted request or an approval message. Follow the status and next action shown in PTOspace.
